CEBEO
An interactive 3D exhibition stand
CEBEO, the electro wholesaler of electrical and electrotechnical equipment, organises its own biennial exhibition within three market segments: residential, industrial and tertiary. More than 170 exhibitors from suppliers and manufacturers showcase the latest innovations in these fields.
A three-dimensional world
Each exhibition is built around one specific theme. The theme of the 2019 fair was technology and services, with digitalisation and new technological gadgets taking centre stage. For example, the QR code has become a basic concept in the digital world, making it the perfect focal point for the central stand design. Expo Z designed and implemented this innovative and playful exhibition stand.
Service and technology = QR code
During the briefing, it quickly became clear that CEBEO’s central stand needed to stand out, emphasising the themes of service and technology. A QR code encompasses both of these aspects.
After several brainstorming sessions, our interior designers got to work.
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that can be read with a smartphone. The code contains specific digital information, such as a link to your company’s website, a video, a document. It is a simple tool that quickly directs you to a specific URL. By pointing a smartphone (with QR reader) at the code, you are instantly redirected to the link, providing the right information within seconds. Handy, right?
Floor with checkerboard pattern and ceiling elements
To bring the QR code to life, we rendered it in 3D. A raised system floor with a checkerboard pattern and suspended ceiling elements formed part of the code. If you photographed the stand in top view, you would see a complete QR code. Creative isn’t it? The flat black-and-white shapes of a QR code were transformed into a three-dimensional world.
At the customer’s request, the concept was made more open to provide greater transparency throughout the stand. In addition to the black ceiling elements, several white elements were added to create a lighter atmosphere. The three corporate colours representing their services were also incorporated into the design.
LED walls and touchscreens
The integration of 80 m² of LED walls and multiple touchscreens made this stand interactive and visually engaging. Visitors to the stand were constantly prompted to keep reading, watching or interacting. CEBEO’s services were effectively showcased at every turn.
Due to the complexity of the suspended structures, we partnered with a reliable company for the rigging of the trusses, stand lighting and LED wall screens. This collaboration went flawlessly, allowing visitors to enjoy a seamless interplay of LED walls.
Careful dismantling and storage
After the successful fair, the stand was carefully disassembled and stored in Expo Z’s warehouse, so CEBEO can reuse the elements created for this event at a later date. Any components that couldn’t be reused were expertly dismantled and recycled. Sustainability first.
